About Bingin
Bingin Beach es uno de los spots más icónicos de la Península de Bukit, en el sur de Bali. Famosa por su ola perfecta y tubular, esta playa es un paraíso para surfistas experimentados que buscan barriles cortos, potentes y mecánicos. La izquierda de Bingin rompe con precisión sobre un arrecife poco profundo, generando una ola técnica pero muy surfeable cuando las condiciones son ideales. El ambiente en Bingin es más íntimo y tranquilo que en otros spots como Uluwatu o Padang Padang. La playa se encuentra al pie de un acantilado, rodeada de pequeños alojamientos y cafés construidos literalmente sobre las rocas. No hay tráfico, ni grandes hoteles: solo mar, surf y un ritmo de vida relajado. Es un lugar que combina una de las mejores olas de Bali con un entorno natural espectacular y una comunidad surfera muy activa.
Local knowledge
El principal peligro es el arrecife — Bingin rompe sobre una plataforma de coral muy poco profunda y afilada que queda al descubierto con la marea baja, por lo que las caídas e incluso las salidas limpias suelen terminar en heridas; los cortes de arrecife, los erizos y los golpes contra el fondo son habituales. El takeoff es pronunciado y la ola dobla directamente hacia el arrecife interior, por lo que quedar atrapado adentro durante una serie puede dejarte sobre roca seca. El lineup se llena y se vuelve muy competitivo cuando las condiciones son buenas, lo que añade su propio riesgo.
Aparca arriba, cerca de los warungs en el acantilado, y baja las empinadas escaleras de hormigón entre cafés y guesthouses hasta la playa. El momento es clave: entra y sal al agua por el keyhole/canal y apunta a marea media o alta — con marea baja el arrecife queda expuesto y la entrada y salida se vuelven peligrosas. Hay varios warungs sobre las rocas donde puedes comer, beber agua y observar el lineup antes de entrar.
Trae una shortboard afilada y bien afinada, o una tabla de rendimiento ligeramente más grande, para el takeoff pronunciado y las secciones de barrel rápidas; esta es una ola para surfistas seguros en el tubo, no para soft-tops flotantes. En días de mayor tamaño, sube a una step-up para tener más potencia de remada y control en el bottom turn.

✈️Getting there
Bali is the simplest surf destination in Indonesia to reach. Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar handles direct flights from across Asia and Australia, plus connections worldwide via Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Doha and beyond. From Australia it's a short hop from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
🛵Getting around
The default surfer transport is a scooter (110–150cc). It's cheap, easy to rent daily or monthly, and lets you slip down narrow Bukit lanes and beat the traffic. Bring or rent a board rack/strap. Wear a helmet, ride sober, and know that traffic is chaotic and Bali's road-accident rate is high — many travellers come unstuck here.
